Kindergarten

First Grade

• Greetings and expressions of courtesy
• Build a basic vocabulary – professions, modes of transportation, clothing, animals, food and family community vocabulary etc.

Second Grade

• Greetings and expressions of courtesy
• Build on basic vocabulary – Household items, tools and materials, health, country and agriculture, nature and activities, etc.

Third Grade

• Greetings and expressions of courtesy
• Review and build on basic Spanish vocabulary
• Beginning short sentence development
• Spanish review games (interactive games) Tira la pelota, Spanish Pictionary

Fourth Grade

• Greeting and expressions of courtesy
• Review and build on basic vocabulary
• Begin basic Spanish dialogue – they learn how to express themselves and talk about their families and friends.  They learn how to greet people and how to describe people, places and things
• They will also be taught some Spanish history – Spain, Spanish America and history of the language

Fifth Grade

• Greetings and expressions of courtesy
• How to ask and answer questions
• Simple grammar – simple sentences
• Review games – Around the World, Spanish Pictionary and TLP
